Biography

Linda Roberts-Betsch, Doctor of Science in Nursing, has been a resident of Georgia since 1983 and currently resides in Alpharetta, GA. Dr. Roberts-Betsch earned a BSN (1970) and an MSHE (1975) from East Carolina University. She earned an MSN (1986) and her doctorate (DSN) in nursing administration (1988) from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Roberts-Betsch was a nursing educator, serving for 26 years until her appointments in the University of North Georgia (UNG) Office of Academic Affairs beginning in 1998. She was the Associate VP for Academic Affairs (1998) until appointed as the Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2004. Roberts-Betsch was subsequently granted Professor of Nursing and Vice President Emerita status by the University System of the Georgia Board of Regents upon her retirement. Dr. Roberts-Betsch was appointed to the Georgia Board of Nursing by Governor Zell Miller in 1997 and by Governor Roy Barnes in 2000 and served for seven years, with her final two years on the board as president. She served on numerous university-wide committees through the years and was elected CEO of the North Georgia Faculty Senate for three terms. Since her retirement, Dr. Roberts-Betsch has taught in the summer English immersion camp at Tsinghau University in Beijing, China, as well as receiving appointments and leadership roles on non-profit community boards. Roberts-Betsch has published many academic articles and published her first children’s book, “The Day the Birds Came Calling,” in June 2021, which is widely available at bookstores, libraries, and online from major retailers in domestic and foreign markets.
